EYFS and Key Stage 1 Nativity Play

This year's nativity, 'The Nativity Party' was a very well-attended event and filled the school with happy, catchy tunes and funky dance moves. The children performed confidently and with lots of enthusiasm and we hope they have good memories of their first big performance for many years to come.

Ginnel Boards Project

Each class designed and decorated a board to be displayed in the Ginnel Park to brighten up the area where our local children play.   The children based their art work on their School learning and Skipton themes. Here are the School Council representative showing off their class work.  Our thanks go to Middletown Community Association for providing us with the boards and  some of the materials to turn our designs into reality.

Woolly Bike Project

Twenty children from Jade and Amethyst took part in the Woolly Bike project, learning lots of new skills like pom pom making; crocheting and French knitting to decorate a fabulously floral and colourful bike to represent our school. The bike will be on display in Craven Court over the 'Le Grand Depart' weekend before being part of a bike trail in Skipton Woods. Please do look out for it.

World Book Day

Thank you to everyone who made such a huge effort for World Book Day, we had children wearing some amazing costumes from Gangsta Grannies, Hansel and Gretel and the Big Bad Wolf to Cat in the Hat , 101 Dalmations and Fantastic Mr Fox.

Christmas Service

Thank you to everyone who braved the extreme weather conditions to attend our Carol Service after the change of venue back to school. Thank you to Reverend Mary for talking to us about what the fisherman was really searching for; and how the birth of the baby Jesus brought this love, joy, hope and peace to the world.

Thank you also to David McCarthy who played the piano so expertly for us. The collection at the end of the service raised £87.53 towards our Christian Aid Christmas Charity Appeal. Here are some of your lovely comments about our Carol Service:

“ Beautiful! Simply beautiful. Few tears from parents and grandparents.”

“ Fantastic sent tingles down my spine listening to singing and readings. Well done, children and staff.”

“ Yet another fantastic performance by all the children, they really are a credit to our school.”

"We thoroughly enjoyed it thank you."

"Absolutely brilliant service. The choir sang with enthusiasm, the children in the tableau were brilliant and all the readers were good. That has put me in a Christmassy mood - thank you."
