Parish Church Primary School, Skipton

Headteacher's Welcome

November 2009

Dear Parent/Carer,

With this prospectus, and on behalf of the governors and school staff, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all families and children who are new to our school. To those who have long connections with the school, I hope that it will provide useful and up to date information.  To anyone interested in knowing more about our school please do not hesistate to contact us to arrange a visit.

Our prospectus is provided to help all parents feel confident about choosing us as the right school for your child.

It will give you a flavour of what school life is about, however, it is often better to actually visit the school to see the children at work and play.  Please contact the school office to arrange a guided tour and I will personally meet you.  You will be assured of a warm welcome by all our staff and children.

We pride ourselves on good communications with parents and every week we send out a newsletter

to keep you up to date with school life.  We also have a school website where information is updated on a regular basis.

We believe in a strong partnership between parents, teachers and pupils and this is vital if children are to reach their full potential, both academically and socially.  We ask for support from you in our efforts to provide the kind of environment in which every child will make the most of their abilities and the opportunities we provide.  Many visitors comment on the special caring ethos of our school and we believe that the quality of relationships within the school environment is central to making it a happy, secure place for children.

From time to time we will hold informal meetings to discuss matters of interest to you.  We hope you will attend our meetings, especially those to discuss the progress your child is making.  Children are so pleased when parents do come into school.  We have a weekly achievement assembly every Monday morning at 9.10am and parents, grandparents are invited to share in this by attending.

We know your child will be happy at Parish Church Primary School and our partnership with you will always be in the best interests of your child.  We look forward to working closely with you.

Yours sincerely,
