Parish Church School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is an active group that meets 3 or 4 times per year to organise regular fund raising activities to benefit the children of the school. There are a core group of teachers and parents involved with the PTA but new parents are always very welcome to come to the meetings and/or help out with any of the events.

The PTA organise a variety of events e.g. The Christmas Bazaar, school discos, refreshments at parent consultation evening and sports day. The main purpose of the PTA is to raise funds to support teaching staff to give the children an excellent school experience. Parents and teachers discuss, at the PTA meetings, how best to use the funds raised. For example, recently the PTA has contributed over £2000 for the purchase of a wireless sound system for the school hall, CD players for each classroom, books, outdoor play equipment and lots more.

Thanks to those who came along to the PTA AGM in Monday September where we discussed our achievements over the last year and discussed future plans.

This year we have already planned lots of activities for our children and families. We hope you get involved and take part. If any of our parents would like to get involved or take part in supporting a particular activity please let us know.

The Christmas Bazaar and Christmas Draw raised £1192 towards a playship for the playground development. A huge thank you to Skipton Building Society, Tesco's, the market stall holders of Skipton, the Paper Shop, the Copper Dragon Brewery and of course our parents, staff and children for their donations of gifts and prizes towards this event.

Bags to School Fill up a bag of used clothes, shoes and handbagsand bring it to school

(after 3.15pm on 3rd December or before 9am on 4th December)

Summer Fun Evening 16th July 2010

We would like to hold a quiz night with supper in the near future. If any parent has experience at organising such an event please let us know! Your skills would be gratefully received.

Parents are welcome to join us at our next PTA meeting on 11th January 2010 at 6.30pm (at the school) where you will recieve a warm welcome!

Skipton Parish Church School Summer Fun Evening 10th July 2009

We all had a super time at our annual Summer Fun Evening.

Brougham Street Nursery joined us on our Summer fun evening and Christmas Bazaar.

Our PTA work very hard to raise money for school.

This year they have bought lots of books and equipment

for the benefit of our children in school.

Some of our children showed enterprise and ran their own stalls at the summer Fair and Christmas Bazaar.
